How to curate your guest list? Wedding edition.

Starting strong, if you are debating on inviting them or not? I think you made your decision. Let's be realistic here, weddings are expensive and if you start calculating by the plate or person it will add up. If this guest that you are trying to invite hasn't being in yours and your fiancées life for too long, I understand the hesitation. Imagine the horror of being introduced to someone the day of your wedding? unacceptable. This is your reminder that your wedding day is one of the most beautiful days in yours and your fiancées life's.

Starting with how do you know this person?

  • Is it a childhood friend, a current friend or a

family member?

  • Is it a coworker that you really like, and have met outside of work?

  • Have this person meet your fiancée?

  • Do you both like them?

  • Is it a person that has shared a meal with both of you?

  • Have you recently spoken to this person regarding a personal matter?

  • Do you trust this person will be there for both of you if anything happened? (good or bad)


If it doesn't meet any of these requirements, it's an easy decision. I know what you are thinking... the last too are pushing it, it's just a wedding. But when you start realizing that you will be sharing this special moment, forever, with this people you start to choose them wisely. This are the "village" that will be there for special situations and unfortunate situations as well. Choose them with time and care, for the sake of you and your fiancée. This is the beginning of your marriage life, have the good and truly caring people around you when it happens.
